My name is Cortney Nelson – but everyone calls me Cat. 

I lived in the United States when I met my partner, who is a dual Australian/American Citizen. Before moving to Australia together I researched visa options for myself. Initially I was on a working holiday visa, but after two years together still in Australia, my partner and I found we truly loved living in Australia and wanted to stay here on a permanent basis. We then applied for the partner visa.

As a result I truly understand the worry and stress that you can feel when for a response from your lodged application – it is so hard to have your life on hold while waiting (and hoping) for the desired outcome.  And I understand that ultimate feeling of joy and excitement when you finally see the visa grant come through! 

I love working for Migration Team Australia, where amongst many of my skills, preparation and lodgement of skill assessment applications are my forte!  And I just love the overall positive feeling I get knowing we are making a difference in each client’s life as we help them on their chosen pathway.
